February is American Heart Month

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of Americans, and each year more than 40,000 babies are born with a congenital heart defect, the most common type of birth defect.

Little Hats, Big Hearts is the American Heart Association's campaign, in connection with The Children's Heart Foundation, to collect knitted or crocheted red baby hats. The hats have been distributed to hospitals across the country to be given to babies born this month including Cheyenne County Hospital.

Little Hats, Big Hearts began in Chicago in 2014 and now has expanded to 40 states.
