New Physician joins staff
Please welcome Dr. Dallas Walz to our current staff of talented medical providers. Dr. Walz is a hometown native returning to the St. Francis community after graduating from St. Francis Community High School in 2003.
He went on to attend Colby Community College from 2003 – 2005 and graduated with an Associates of Science. He then transferred to the University of Kansas in 2005 where he graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology. Dr. Walz started medical school in 2008, spending his first two years at the Kansas City campus. After this, he went to Wichita for six months of clinical rotations and finished out his last eighteen months of clinical rotations in Salina. He is currently receiving his residency training at Smoky Hill Family Medicine Residency in Salina where he is the chief resident this year.
Speaking with Dr. Megan Brown, she is very excited to have Dr. Walz join our team. She had the opportunity to work with him in Salina. She feels he is an excellent doctor and will be a great addition to the clinic and hospital. Dr. Walz will be seeing patients in both the St. Francis Clinic and the Bird City Clinic. He will help cover Cheyenne County Hospital inpatients and emergency room, as well as Good Samaritan Village patients.
He will be accepting new patients, including OB, starting. Dr. Walz stated, “I am very excited about the opportunity to return to St. Francis and look forward to giving back to the community that has stood behind me and supported me through my education.” He will be joined by his wife Heather, their awesome dog Walter, and their two cats, Deliha and Shelby.
